The Declaration of Independence
       The Declaration of Independence is basically the birth certificate for our nation.  The people who signed it were risking their lives, the lives of their family and their property because they were declaring war with England and were now branded as traitors to the King of England. You can bet they insisted on agreeing with everything written in it, for they would not risk their lives for something they considered a lie, or unimportant. Many of the people who signed this document played a major part in laying the foundations for this country, most notably ;  John Hancock,  Thomas Jefferson,   Benjamin Harrison, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Adams, and John Adams. If anyone knew it this country was intended to be a religious country or a secular one it would have been them.

This article will only cover the religious language.

"the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them..."
Who is nature's God? If they were talking about random chance like an atheist would be if they made the same statement you would have to wonder how can random chance entitle anybody to anything?

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life..."
How are all men created equal? Some are rich some, are poor, some are born healthy, some are born sick. Are founding fathers could not have been referring to the circumstances surrounding our births. I believe this statement refers to us being created in God's image, since in God's eyes we are all created equal.   Who is our creator? They couldn't be talking about our parents because the parents our founding father's knew often did not have these rights, so how could they endow their kids with them?  However the Christian God gives us  liberty in the fullest,  even the freedom to  reject our creator, no matter how sad it makes him.

 "protection of divine Providence."

divine- refers to deity or superbly good
Providence-  When capitalized is either a city in Rhode Island or  divine guidance
  So this phrase basically says the protection of god's guidance.

While this doesn't prove the Christian God played a big role in  forming our government, it does help to show that this was not a secular nation.
