Not Everyone Who Says they are Christian Really is a
Christian.

Matthew
7:21-23
“Not everyone who
says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who
does the will
of
My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have
we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done
many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you
who practice lawlessness!’

If I were say that I am a billionaire who is a longtime resident
of France, but then later said I am homeless, and don't know a
word of French would you still believe that I was a Billionaire
that lived in France? I hope not the idea is preposterous.
In America, and many other places
we have a similar situation. Whenever someone who says they are
Christian commits a crime the media take their words for it and plaster
their church name all over the newspapers and tv. The media seems
pleased to besmirch the character. of an entire church, so pleased in
fact that they never bother to ask how long it has been since the
person was at Church. You see once someone's name is put on church
rolls they do not take the name off of those rolls without a special
request, in some cases it is possible to be on the church rolls forty
or more years after the person last attended. If the person in
question hasn't been in Church for forty years and is out
committing horrible crimes that the Bible condemns, I have
as much right to question if you they really are Christian, as I would
if you were a homeless billionaire in France and did not speak a word
of French.
You see being a Christian isn't about just saying you are
a Christian, it is about following Christ. Christ told those who
want to follow him that they must live a certain prescribed way of
life. If the person in question does something against the scripture
below. you can bet they are behaving in an unchristian way, if they do
unchristian behavior on a regular basis you can be fairly certain they
are not Christian, no matter what they say.
Either way when someone does something unbiblical, it is the person
that should be blamed and not the body of Christ.

Matthew 22:36-40
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord
your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind.' 38This is the first
and greatest commandment. 39And
the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets
hang on these two commandments."
